Dr. Siegel earned his Medical Degree and Master's in Neuro Anatomy at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia, School of Medicine, and has been in practice for more than 25 years. He is one of a few doctors in the world board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric ophthalmology. Having received his Pediatric training at Cedars Sinai, his Ophthalmology training at the University of California, San Diego, and his fellowship at Jules Stein UCLA in pediatric Ophthalmology, this expertise allows surgical and medical management of complex pediatric eye conditions.
Dr. Siegel has performed over 50,000 surgical procedures, and overseen over 250,000 exams with the help of specially trained staff dedicated to the needs of all children of diverse ethnic, developmental, genetic, and social backgrounds.

Dr. Chaudhri graduated from the University of California and Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida and her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego. During her fellowship, Dr. Chaudhri was awarded for outstanding resident instruction. She is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Chaudhri's interests include pediatric and adult strabismus, pediatric cataract, and retinopathy of prematurity.
Dr. Lee earned his bachelor's at Johns Hopkins University and received his MD from Cornell University where he graduated with Honors in Research as a Howard Hughes Scholar.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at Cornell and then went to Harvard Medical School as a Heed Fellow where he studied retinal stem cells and the role they play in cancer. He completed his retina fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School before returning to Cornell where he was a Fred Gluck Scholar. He held the position of Associate Director of the Robert M. Ellsworth Ocular Oncology Center at Cornell until being recruited to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Lee has made significant advances in our understanding of pediatric retinal disorders. He has pioneered the use of cutting-edge imaging techniques such as Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) to identify retinal detachments at the earliest possible stage. He is also the first to use an intraocular endoscope to perform complex surgery in pediatric retinal detachments resulting from retinopathy of prematurity, familial exudative vitreo-retinopathy, x-linked retinoschisis, and trauma.
He has identified novel drugs that can induce blood vessel and tumor regression and is currently designing new ways to enhance delivery into the eye. His work has been supported by a number of grants from research foundations and has numerous peer-reviewed publications in recognition of these accomplishments. While at Cornell he has been awarded the Distinguished House Staff Award, the Resident Teaching, Franklyn Ellenbogen Prize, and Dean William Mecklenburg Polk Memorial Prize, and has recently been recognized with the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology for his contributions both in advancing the field as well as teaching courses to enhance the skills of other ophthalmologists. He holds membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Association of Pediatric Retina Surgeons, and the Ocular Oncology Research Society, and the New York Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Lee has an active research program that focuses on developing new therapies to treat retinopathy of prematurity and retinoblastoma. He has identified a novel class of drugs to accelerate cell death of both retinoblastoma cells and vascular endothelial cells. He also studies the role that retinal stem cells play both in the formation of retinoblastoma tumors as well as the replacement of damaged neurons resulting from degenerative retinal diseases.
Dr. Susan Shin is a graduate of UCLA, where she received her bachelor of science degree in psychobiology. During her undergraduate years, she committed many hours of volunteer service at the Jules Stein Eye Institute and decided upon a career in eye care. She went on to complete her optometric education at the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO), where she graduated with top honors and received the Salutatorian award for her class. After earning her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Shin completed an additional year of residency training in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy at SCCO and continued on at the same academic institution as a full-time faculty member for several years providing clinical and didactic instruction to optometry students and interns.
While at the College, Dr. Shin became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and also enjoyed participating in pediatric and binocular vision-related research, including the ongoing Amblyopia Treatment Studies funded by the National Eye Institute.
Presently, Dr. Shin maintains an on-call affiliation with the school, but her primary responsibilities and commitment are with the Children’s Eye Institute, where she enjoys providing direct care to pediatric patients of all ages, as well as adults with strabismus.
Outside of work, Dr. Shin is an avid member of the gym, which is fueled by her enjoyment of food and enthusiasm for fitness.
Her frequent attendance led her to become a certified group exercise instructor in cardio-kickboxing and barbell weight training formats.
She appreciates the interaction with her class members and takes great pleasure in challenging and motivating them to higher levels of fitness.
Dr. Hsiao-yi Yang, a dedicated and accomplished optometrist, graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor's degree in General Biology.
She furthered her studies at the Western University of Health Sciences, School of Optometry with special interest in pediatric.
Driven by a passion for enhancing the eye health of young patients, Dr. Yang brings a compassionate patient-centric approach to her practice. Her expertise in pediatric eye conditions is complemented by a natural ability to connect with children, even the most challenging ones, ensuring thorough examinations and effective treatments. Beyond her professional life, Dr. Yang finds joy in traveling and indulging culinary adventures, especially enjoying coffee and wine with her husband. In her downtime, she shares her life with a beloved Doberman, crafting delightful treats for her furry companion. Andrew Do is an optometrist from Pennsylvania. He graduated from UC Berkeley, where he studied vision science and optometry. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Salus University in Pennsylvania, where he gained valuable experience and skills in pediatric eye care. He serves as an executive board member of the Inland Empire Optometric Society, a professional organization that promotes the advancement of optometry in the region. He has a passion for archery, weight lifting, and baking, which he enjoys in his spare time. He is a professional and energetic person who strives to provide the best service to his patients.
